We do have a certain lack of originality, though. We are saying the same things we've always said, just now oriented around newer topics.
I get that it's good for us to be connected to some people who don't share out same opinions, so we don't get stale. But the talking points could be freshened up a little, I think.

I remember when WheresGeorge started their new message board system 10 years ago and used "rep power". Boy, that didn't work out well...
Still, I'd love to see who'd end up being "the lowest scum on the boards" over here...

I actually enjoyed the debate about number of days in a week more than the political threads here. At least it made me laugh, and it only lasted two days.

I like the humor from those posting differing opinions from my own. Even though most of the time I don't change my original opinion, disagreeing helps to see something from all sides.

That couldn't be any less true, especially these days when everyone seems so incredibly and unjustifiably righteous about their opinions. Having an opinion from another side just gives people someone to attack and bitch at...

It may not always seem like it, but the Bored is actually a lot more civil than many other places around the internets. Do a search for "moron" or "retard" here and you won't find much, at least not directed at each other, but on some message boards that is pretty much how they say hello.
I am not defending some of the things she said when she was here, but I think the reason a lot of people got mad at sunflower was that she started acting the way people do on other Internet sites, and we just weren't used to it.

I hate to think what Esto and Flock post on other message boards then.

I'm surprised nobody pointed out what The Beatles clearly understood - there are 8 days a week - and even in that case it wasn't enough to show they care.

Then don't, Josh.
