A childhood crush of mine.
Are there any Rod Taylor movies in the current Tangredi puzzle? I must check.

I'd just referenced Rip Taylor on my blog last week... and I think that's why the name Rod Taylor was ringing a bell with me. Now I realize I have no idea who he is...

Time Machine is one of Boonie's favorite movies and we watched it not that long ago (although not the most recent showing).
I caught part of Sunday in New York the other night.
AND a couple of minutes of Glass Bottomed Boat a couple weeks ago.

I've seen The Time Machine many times and thought he was great in it. My other favorite? The Birds. It was nice to see Rod Taylor playing Churchill in the cameo in the Tarantino movie a few years back as well. Sad news, but he'll get a nice round of applause at the Oscars as there is no way he is left off the montage.

No, I am not responsible for this.
Let's not forget one of my favorite Rod Taylor movie roles:

I never liked The Time Machine, nor Sunday in New York for that matter. I watched about a half hour of Sunday in NY because I like to watch stars in the process of becoming the superb actors they're going to be be, and Sunday in NY had two -- Jane Fonda and Cliff Robertson. I look at actors landing the "role of a lifetime" and wonder how it works, that Cliff Robertson got Charly, Fonda got Bree Daniel, and Taylor got lots of roles, but nothing like those two.

Speaking of Rod Taylor appearing with future greats, here are stills from
The VIPs and
Young Cassidy. You may recognize the young actress at the start of her career.

I can't believe in a thread on Rod Taylor, nobody has mentioned what is probably his best known role - starring in The Birds

At least he made it to age 85 today in the Celebrity Birthdays column in the Austin newspaper.
