Former coach of the New York Giants during the 1960s, who took the team to the NFL championship game each of his first three seasons. Those teams, led by quarterback Y.A. Tittle, featured Giant legends like Frank Gifford and Sam Huff. Then, the roof caved in on the team, which only won two games in 1964 and pretty much stunk up the league for the next 20 years or so. Sherman was fired after the 1969 preseason, and former Giants star Alex Webster replaced him.

Age 91.
