Former Green Bay Packer offensive lineman (real name Fred) who played on the famous Packer championship teams of the 1960s. Before being traded to the Packers in 1959, he played for the Baltimore Colts and was on their 1958 championship team, making him one of only three players in NFL history to play on six World Championship teams (including the first two Super Bowls). Thurston and Jerry Kramer were the pulling guards who set up the Packers' signature running play, the end run. He and Kramer were honorary captains at one of the Packers' home games this season.
Age 80.

Re: RIP Fuzzy Thurston
I think I read Kramer's Instant Replay three times. Those guys were real men. (as are all former Offensive Lineman like me
) They were responsible for me having fond feelings for the Packers even today.
I felt the change
Time meant nothing and never would again
