Observations July 31 - Kludge
When my alma mater started to enter the computer age in earnest, it was a disastrous kludge because of the enrollment system not talking to the accounting system not talking to the records system, and on and on, until the administration finally purchased and installed a complete system where all the information could be accessed from any computer on campus, with the proper username and password, of course.
