Tonight I will be the "celebrity guest" at a trivia contest fund-raiser for a local elementary school. One of the people on my PAF list has organized this for her daughter's school and asked that I come to participate. Because it's on a weeknight I wasn't able to get any of the other members of my "usual" team together, so I'll be on a team with the woman's daughter and her friend (both of whom are members of our church) and several other fifth-graders.
The purpose of the contest is not only to raise funds for the school but also to help prepare the children for the upcoming CATS tests (the ones used to measure student achievement, teacher achievement, etc.). So I guess I can consider this a dry run for "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?" as well.

Thanks. I have this dread of falling flat on my face and our team losing, thus proving that I am NOT smarter than a 5th grader.

Ah, but that's just the performance that might get TPTB interested in casting you for the show! Make sure someone videotapes it.
You can reveal that it was all an act, once Jeff Foxworthy starts reading the questions to you.

Y'know, that's a scathingly brilliant idea, Marley. Might just be the hook I need to persuade the casting crew for AYSTA5G.
