My Boonie and Pretty Lady are going to Old Pretty Lady's house and eat a big dinner there.

Then, they are coming home. And play with me.

My new and hopefully very temporary avatar is from three years ago, and the bird was eaten long ago, with nothing remaining except a couple of iridescent feathers (very beautiful in the sunlight, but the sun hadn't come over the horizon when this photo was snapped). Anyway, it's the biggest turkey I ever shot.

Okay. I thought California lets kids get their learners permit at 15 1/2, so they can theoretically be ready to test for their license on the day they turn 16?

Maybe it's because I'm a suburban kid, but I never thought of a parking garage as a likely spot for a first lesson!

Farm kids drive pretty early. Littlest Spock just turned 12 and has been driving since at least he was 10-driving errands to fields and between farms for chores and so forth. It struck me one day (when he was 11) that I had never actually ridden with him to teach him in the beginning-I had simply told him to follow me to the field or whatever.

That may be. I can't say that I've looked into that yet, and he hasn't been pushing us for a license. Even that day, though, is a few months away. --Bob

So you're a lawyer and you think permission to park your car somewhere extends to permission for another person, an unlicensed driver, to drive there, in terms of liability?

Yes. We're lessees. We don't need anyone's permission to be on the property. And the only liability would be ours, if something got hit. Hell, that's even true if I hit something in the garage.
