The Spocklette and the One that Got Away

Last year for deer hunting I gave the Spocklette (12 at the time) the best gift I could ever give her. She was standing by the edge of a woods and a buck came out of the woods running full blast about 10 feet away from her. I wasn't with her-but I did hear her shoot-I would have loved to see it happen.
However, she now has her "The One that Got Away" story that she will never forget until she loses her mind-She brings it up often and I tell her-you will remember that till you are 80.
She is super excited about deer hunting this year-she loves venison-and she has a bit of sibling rivalry going with big brother about who will get a buck first-Don't tell him, but I am kind of pulling for her and I will try and put her in the better spot.
And it was another milestone at the Spock's this weekend-all of the kids have been along hunting since they were little-but this was the first time that all 3 of them carried a gun. Littlest Spock finished his gun safety classes this spring and he is a gung-ho hunter this year. All 3 of them have their own 20 gauges.
With the 3 of them we were pheasant hunting-I got one-fresh pheasant for supper-Yummie.
Littlest Spock and an older 2nd cousin got a goose tonight-He is a very happy boy-I haven't seen the pics yet-but Gramma said it looked as big as he is. So we have a goose in our freezer.
