Someone in the government pulled a fast one on our agency (and others) yesterday and it wasn't an April Fool's joke, either. That somebody decided to consolidate two online systems for e-commerce without giving anyone any warning. This consolidation, which is a good thing overall, has had a bad effect on us because it caused problems with a third system that we use to advertise our upcoming projects. It's a long story, but the short of it is that we have been knocked offline, so to speak, and can't post our advertisements. A message received this morning says that the down time will be several days at best because of "issues" involving the connection between our system and the new merged system. It really bugs me that "they" did this without any kind of notification - had we known in advance we could have adjusted schedules and such.

Must be the same bastages who knocked out Citibank Online (our public banking website) offline for most of the workday.
