In his introduction, they said that Pearson had hosted a trivia game on a cruise ship for several months. That experience certainly must have helped him with the big personality one needs to get cast on this show, but if it did anything for his being a trivia player, I didn't see it in this game. Even though Terry praised his lifeline usage, what I saw was wasting an ATA on an obscure question that should have been jumped immediately, and then calling up his Plus One to pick out the one obvious Danish name in the bunch.

He barely got past the green bean casserole question, too.

Actually, Speakes's title was Deputy Press Secretary. He filled in for the injured Jim Brady for six years.

I've eaten kiwis and know they're harmless, so I would have gone with the audience and left with $1K.

I know the Danes consider Andersen a "national treasure." Also, Kafka and Yeats lived in the 20th century.

It can't be Prince, since he missed “We Are The World” because he had to bail his bodyguard out of jail. The story is told in this famous Saturday Night Live sketch:
Cold Opening: Prince

My guess would have been Ray Charles, but I suppose it could have been Aretha too. ATA, and if I don't like the spike, Plus One. Or, Plus One first depending on who it is.

Since I've already used my JTQ, I might as well ATA, although I don't think they'll give me a strong enough response. None of my +1 candidates would know this.
