The FCC has lifted its NFL blackout rules that prohibited TV stations in the NFL cities from broadcasting home games if the game was not sold out at least 72 hours in advance. The NFL may try to include a ban in future negotiations with various TV broadcasters but they could no longer rely on government protection to do so.
