Tetris, the Movie?!

#1 Post by Bob Juch » Tue Sep 30, 2014 11:08 am

Are you sitting down? Please, tell me you’re sitting down. Because, the Wall Street Journal reports, Tetris will be coming to a theater near you.

No, not for a World Cup competition — the company is determined to turn the classic blockbusting game into a spectator sport — but for a movie. That’s right, there is going to be a Tetris movie. And according to Threshold Entertainment CEO Larry Kasanoff, “It’s a very big, epic sic-fi movie.”

If they can make Battleship into a movie, why not Tetris?

It will probably be as successful.

I'm still trying to figure out why the USS Missouri--preserved as a floating museum--still had live ordinance aboard.

Alien spaceships bombard earth with thousands of giant bizarrely shaped blocks and scientists have to figure out a way to fit them into thousands of giant puzzle grids that are manufactured to help stop the attack.

Mousetrap was made into a movie, correct?

My suggetions for other games to be made into movies:

Stratego
Operation
Risk
Jenga
Uno

I remember when they did "Twister." It was nothing like the game...

They couldn't 'sell' George Clooney as the lead since he got married. It wouldn't work. That and Carrot Top was busy.

But oh how I'd like to play it with Helen Hunt.
