It's the end of the year and things are hopping around here.

My church is going to have a weekend dedicated to issues of justice and mercy based on Micah 6:8 - "What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with your God". The kickoff is a dinner and trivia night this Friday. The publicity about the event wasn't very specific so I went to the staff minister in charge and asked, "How many people are on a team?" She said that the planning committee hadn't thought about that and asked for my suggestion. I told her that most trivia nights have teams of 6-8 and considering that the tables in our Fellowship Hall seat 8, that seemed like a good team size. She agreed. She then asked me if I'd be willing to write the questions and emcee the event. That caught me by surprise because I was planning on playing with my team, the Trivia Knights (which includes TheSearchIsOn and MsCheesecake). Now elwing and I can't play because we're running the thing. I was told that this would be a family event, so I needed to try and include questions that children could answer. So I came up with some and ran them past my grandchildren (ages 8, 6 and 3) and they didn't know the answers. Either they're too young, or I missed the demographic.

Oh, and last night elwing hit a car parked across the street as she was backing out of our driveway. No damage to the other vehicle but some obvious damage to ours.

Believe me, its better this way than the other way around. It hurts, but its better. It turns out I have a bad blind spot (seeing out around the back of my car, not on my retina) & a very skinny pole at a local grocery store parking lot proved that the worst way. At least all my rear lights still work, even though one of them no longer looks so pretty. And at least I wouldn't have been expected to leave a note for the pole even if it had appeared damaged.

She did. Her KY license came up for renewal in March.
