I've been reading everything I can find about this sad news. Rob and I both graduated from Trinity High School in Louisville, Kentucky. I never met him, but he sounds like a good guy.

Something is up with this.
Woman alleges Rob Bironas tried to run her off road before fatal crash
and
Bironas' wife Rachel Bradshaw reported her husband as missing on Saturday night before learning of the crash. She had been watching a movie with Bironas and thought he had gone to bed at about 10:30 p.m., but did not find him shortly afterward.
The accident happened about 11:00. Why would someone 'report her husband missing' when she hadn't seen him in only an hour or so. And where was he going, or coming from? Weird.

Very strange. According to the timeline, they were watching a movie until 10:30 when he said goodnight and headed to bed and everything was normal. In the next 33 minutes, he somehow slipped away unnoticed, tried to run a car off the road and confronted two strangers, then sped off and crashed. I hope they figure out what really happened, but there must be a lot more to the story.

The first thing that comes to mind is that he'd done this before and she knew or suspected that he was going off to get involved in some sort of hanky panky (drugs, another woman/man, gambling) and wanted to embarrass him and have the cops catch him in the act. It's only her word that he said he was going to bed and then vanished. He could well have told her he was going out but she called the cops on him anyway.

More parts of the story continue to emerge. He had a bizarre confrontation with a group of college students at about the same time.

Makes you wonder what movie he and his wife were watching.

The timeline is inconsistent, thus confusing.
This quote indicates Bironas' wife called and reported him missing BEFORE 10:30 (or at least before the encounter with the Belmont students.
Fraley detailed a frightening encounter he and three other Belmont students had with Bironas around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, shortly after Bironas' wife called police to report him missing
This quote indicates Bironas had his final confrontation about 11:00 p.m.
another woman told The Tennessean she witnessed Bironas' confrontation with the couple involved in the 911 call around 11 p.m., as she and her boyfriend were headed to a late movie.
Did he leave around 10:30 p.m. or did she call around 10:30 p.m.? Either way, why did she call to report him missing so shortly after he left? Earlier reports say she thought he was in bed after leaving the downstairs around 10:30.
Bironas' wife, called police to report that her husband was missing after leaving around 10:30 p.m.
