Stinkerball and the Squirrels are back in the postseason after clinching on Monday. They will likely face the Akron RubberDucks next week.
The Squirrels had a huge 10+ game lead but went on a tailspin in early August, losing eight games in a row at one point and soon another four in a row. This allowed the RubberDucks to almost catch them for the division lead and also brought the rival Bowie Baysox into the equation. But the Squirrels recovered a bit and then won two out of three last weekend against Bowie, who needed a sweep to stand any real chance to complete the epic comeback/collapse.
Standings- Top two in each division make playoffs, home advantage goes to leading team playing the second team in the same division.

The Squirrels beat the wild card RubberDucks in game 1, 3-2 in 11 innings. It is a best of five series that ends Sunday (or sooner). The winners go on to the Eastern League Championship next week.

Why do I get the feeling there's an lb drawing in this somehow?

The Squirrels lost both of their home games to the Binghamton Mets and would have to win three in a row in Binghamton to win the championship this year.

The Binghamton Mets are one win away their goal, and come back home Thursday knowing they have three chances to claim the franchise's first Eastern League championship in 20 years.

The Binghamton Mets are the Eastern League champions. For the second time the Squirrels are league runners-up. I was following on Twitter while on the Amtrak route that goes past Mecca and St. Louis. The clincher almost happened while I was going through Granite City but the Squirrels who were being no-hit through 7 tied it up and got out of a bases loaded jam. But the next inning the Mets clinched. Meanwhile on to Texas overnight for me.
