Re: Dating Naked
So she wasn't humiliated and embarrassed by appearing on the show in the first place but she was because her naughty bits got shown accidentally.“Since the initial airing of the third episode of ‘Dating Naked,’ Plaintiff has suffered and continues to suffer severe extreme emotional distress, mental anguish, humiliation and embarrassment, as the uncensored episode and uncensored pictures

Re: Dating Naked
Then there was the guy she was starting to date who stopped calling her after her episode aired. I wonder if that had something to do with her willingness to appear (at all) on a show called Dating Naked. I wonder also if she's heard of the Streisand Effect. --Bob

We are supposed to believe the guy only stopped dating her because he saw her vagina and anus...and not because she was on the show in the first place.

Re: Dating Naked
I haven't watched it since I've never wanted to watch any dating shows, although I obviously like the naked aspect of it. Sounds like the girl is just looking for a lawsuit. Of course, I've been putting my bits on display for 30 years now, without any "severe extreme emotional distress, mental anguish, humiliation and embarrassment."

LOL. I was, of course, referring to myself. If any students have suffered any kind of distress, I haven't heard about it. Of course, they're more apt to suffer distress from the sight of my expanding waistline than from my bits...

Re: Dating Naked
So is this show sort of like "The Bachelor, for perverts"?
Why would someone go on the show and then expect to have any normal relationships with normal people later? I certainly wouldn't want to date a girl who has already shown all she has to the world. I know there are men who date centerfolds and porn stars, but those aren't normal men.
I love how she say's ever her grandma isn't speaking to her. Like Granny would have been OK with it had the bits been blurred. Granny could care less about the details seen.

Re: Dating Naked
I know we have lots of lawyers around here so despite all the 'non-reality' of reality TV and despite whatever moral opinions anyone has about doing a show like "Dating Naked" isn't the bottom line on the lawsuit going to be the wording of whatever contract she has? I mean, even if she is out there being all nekked with some guy(s) she's just met and even if she's showing all her body parts to the entire film crew - if there is a contract that says that all the 'money shots' will get blurred out and VH1 screws up in editing - Odds are she's going to get a settlement. While the lawsuit may say it's for her humiliation and embarrassment, I would expect that this really will come down to a matter of contract law. Does that sound right?
So she'll get a chunk of money and maybe parlay this into some type of "fame". (Hey, it worked for that K family)
VH1 will pay a chunk of money. And likely has already gotten more publicity and exposure they they could ever hope to pay for.
Personally, I've never seen any part of "Dating Naked". I'd heard about it but don't watch it for the same reasons that I don't watch any of the "Bachelor" type shows. I have watched about half of the "Naked and Afraid" series. I find the blurring pretty stupid. They really should just go with all the body parts out there and put it on a network or in a time-slot that can handle the nudity. Shoot - I've seen more detailed body part porn scattered on the sidewalks of Vegas than whatever brief, distance shot you'd see on a naked type TV show.

Re: Dating Naked
She can probably demonstrate breach of contract (although CYA language [figurative, not literal, in this case] might even preclude that). But another essential element of a claim for breach of contract is damages caused by the breach. She might find that element difficult to prove. --Bobjaybee wrote:I know we have lots of lawyers around here so despite all the 'non-reality' of reality TV and despite whatever moral opinions anyone has about doing a show like "Dating Naked" isn't the bottom line on the lawsuit going to be the wording of whatever contract she has? I haven't seen the contract for this show, but if we can take the WWTBAM official rules as an example of TV show rules, I'd guess that it provides lots of power and protection to the producers and very little coverage to the contestants.

I've read that her suit alleges breach of oral contract, namely the producers' assurances that her naughty bits would be blurred. Samuel Goldwyn made a wise comment: ""A verbal agreement isn't worth the paper it's written on."MarleysGh0st wrote:Nice turn of phrase, Bob.Bob78164 wrote:She can probably demonstrate breach of contract (although CYA language [figurative, not literal, in this case] might even preclude that). Re: Dating Naked
I was wishing the same thing about "Naked & Afraid" because I thought it would improve my chances of getting on the show, and I sure didn't care about blurring body parts. After 30 years of modeling, I have no "modesty" left.jaybee wrote: Personally, I've never seen any part of "Dating Naked". But alas, the show producers apparently have enough survivalist applicants, and my experience in that area is pretty slim. I've spent too much time living in metropolitan areas. And the other show that that casting agency had me send demo videos for apparently didn't get picked up.

Matching tattoos before they ever met. Now there's the basis for a lifelong relationship.
