My son (Pat) got married this weekend, in a wonderful ceremony in a scenic locale in Vermont (Maria, the new Mrs. Cap'n's, original home)

Just a couple of the pix I snapped -- I know the pros will have much better pictures.

Pat with the groomsmen -- BTW, this is the first time I've seen him in his dress outfit.

And Maria and Pat at during the ceremony.

It was a great time, and they are off to a great start together.

Yep, that's what the bride wanted! She made the bow ties (I got to wear one also with my regular suit). Of course, Pat and I were the only ones who knew how to tie them, so we spent Friday giving the guys a seminar on how to tie them. :P

Of course, I kind of felt I looked like this:

Very nice! Although that is not the really one of the "dress" uniforms. He appears to be wearing the newish Class A Army Service Uniform, which replaced the old Class A Green Uniform a few years ago, and is the equivalent of a business suit. I am a little surprised he did not at least wear one of the dress blue variations of this uniform which would have let him wear a bow tie as well!

(Although it appears the time of day dictates whether one wears the four In hand tie or the bow tie. Been out of the Army too long and so much has changed!)

And the blue "mess dress", which is the military equivalent of a tux, is a good bit more formal than that.

Not the greatest example (and not me!).
