According to the computer chip in my breathing machine my apnea has gone away. That is, my airway is staying open thanks to the positive pressure from the machine. However I'm still waking up 4 times a night and not getting restful sleep. The chip says I'm only getting about 6 hours, no matter what time I go to bed. The doctor is puzzled as to what's going on. He offered me a drug called Nuvigil® that is supposed to keep me alert during the day. It's a Schedule IV-C controlled substance. I haven't decided whether I want to fill the prescription.

I suspect the cost isn't the issue...

I'd be afraid of the side effects, but it's nice to know you can try it for a week for free.

It wasn't until I got email from my pharmacy. The cost of a 30-day supply is $630. My reluctance was previously based on the potential nasty side effects; the cost just makes it worse.

Ear, I have a solution for you. Getcha some speed or meth or something and that'll perk you right up during the day. Makes the work go faster, I suppose, too. What could go wrong?
