Daniel Ciccone, a firefighter from Leominster, MA, will be on SyndieBAM, sometime this fall.

On July 10, Ciccone taped two episodes as a contestant on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire."
There's a minor spoiler at the end of the above paragraph:
Spoiler
he carries over to a second episode.
He's trying to see if the show will send him a DVD of his two episodes so he can have a viewing party at the Knights of Columbus Hall around September. Ciccone wants to turn it into a fundraiser for the Leominster Fire Local 1841 Community Outreach Fund, a private organization started by Leominster firefighters so they can donate money to local charitable causes.
Have the APs ever sent out an episode DVD in advance? I thought contestants had to tape the show themselves, or have a friend do it.
Ciccone never considered himself a trivia buff, but last month on a whim, he responded to an ad for tryouts for the show in Connecticut. He said they gave him a written exam with 30 questions and interviewed him to see what he looks like on camera. He made the cut and went on to appear as an audience member and a contestant.
On a whim. :|

There's also info about the new lifeline.
He said people were at home Googling the answers so now they bring a friend to the studio, known as their "Plus One." All audience members have to turn in their cellphones to keep everyone honest.
They collect everyone's cellphones? Really??? That would sure slow down the process of kicking everyone out the door when they're done taping.

Or maybe they're not in such a hurry, out in Stamford. Maybe they'll even let folks use the bathroom again before they leave.

You seem to be assuming that they give the cellphones back. Maybe not. I heard rumors about an upcoming theme week: "Walk In And Win Your Weight In Cellphones."

What if you show up saying "I purposely left mine in the car". Which I would purposely do. Do they frisk you?

(remember my current cell phone is only worth about $40.00 & is very, very unsmart)

I am trying to imagine people being forced to sit for a hours without their cellphones these days. It's really hard to do, but it brings such joy to my face!

My memory is telling me they sent me videotapes of my episodes which I received the day before the shows began airing, so I could play them for my viewing party in 'real time' - the show didn't air here at that time. I could be misremembering, however. It's been a day or two.

Amongst the 500 email attachments I got prepping me for my upcoming taping was a document that stated I should make sure friends in all different markets recorded the show because they wouldn't be able to provide me with a copy even if it was preempted in my market.
