I have intended this to be spoiler-free, though there are general comments and a couple of casting things that are widely reported so not technically spoilers - but if you are especially sensitive, go watch and come back later).

Just finished season 2, having joined the party late.

I assumed it would be violent, and it was more so in season 2 than in 1. I assumed it would have language, which it does but never where I thought it was out of character. I assumed there would be sex, but was a tad surprised at the frequency. Folks sensitive to sex especially should steer clear. But none of that compromises some really fine storytelling on almost every storyline.

I wonder how many others are watching for Kate Mulgrew -- I was on the fence about the show until I found out she is on. I recently finished Star Trek: Voyager, which I bowed out of after one season when it aired live, knowing I couldn't wait seven years for Dorothy to get home to Kansas. But when you watch one or two episodes night, there is no time to wallow in any disappointing episodes (and there weren't that many, at that speed). Anyway, I was a fan of hers on Voyager and wanted to try Orange to see how she's doing, and DAMN!

She is one of a dozen great actors who are selling their characters and stories very well. Season 2 brought in Lorraine Toussant and that just escalated the kick-ass acting.

OK, yes, one spoiler comment but it's still very general:
Spoiler
I loved how so often they would set us up to think something dreadful was going to happen and then it didn't, at least until the final episodes of each season.

I found the book on which the series is based very interesting.

Mrs. SSS and I just finished the last two episodes of the second season. We have really enjoyed the show. Netflix has really done a great job with this and House of Cards.
