So this is how it all ends?

ShamelessWeasel - 100% of 184 = 184
franktangredi - 100% of 108 = 108
themanintheseersuckersuit - 100% of 96 = 96
Bob Juch - 50% of 180 = 90
jarnon - 50% of 80 = 40
Bob78164 - 0% of 4 = 0

At this point, you pretty much have to go for it and finish with a big score. And now... the last question of the series:

What proven scientific fact can be said about all of the answers that I have provided over the course of the Ultimate QoD Challenge?

Your answer is due by Tuesday 7/22 at 4 PM EDT. It's the last round, so we're not exactly in a rush this time.

I can't see the answers until at least a millisecond after Bo posts them. (I'm sure the time gap is actually longer, but I'm too lazy to try to figure it out.)

What proven scientific fact can be said about all of the answers that I have provided over the course of the Ultimate QoD Challenge?

Interesting guesses on this question. I think Frank is closer than anybody else to the answer that I was actually looking for.

The scientific fact is called the half-life of facts. What this means is that about half of everything that you learn and believe in your lifetime will eventually be proved to be total bullpuckey. The world is always changing. Scientists, historians, and other field experts are constantly doing research on anything and everything imaginable. As a result, new research often renders certain facts and common sense both false and obsolete.

The "Fat Chance" questions have been a perfect example of the half-life of facts. They've shown that a lot of what you've learned and what you were told when you were younger have been proved to be false. Things such as "smoking is healthy" and "Ronald Reagan was a great president".

Ironically, a lot of the "Fat Chance" answers that I have provided during this contest will themselves eventually become false. In fact, about 7% of all of the answers that I have given during this contest will be proved to be false within the next year. So I triple dog dare somebody on the Bored to claim that I'm wrong on anything anymore because it will only prove that I'm right about the half-life of facts. :-D

Although the scores below are official on July 22, 2014, they are certainly not permanent. It is quite possible that we will review all of the questions and answers from this contest exactly one year from now so that we can see which correct answers have changed and which scores need to be adjusted.

Two things are guaranteed never to change or be proved to be false, though. 1) Bob Juch is the second smartest person on the Bored, and 2) a total of 15 people on the Bored are smarter than Estonut.

Week 12 Scores
ShamelessWeasel - 16 + 24 + 16 + 128 + 184 (+ 4) = 372
Bob Juch - 16 + 20 + 0 + 144 + 90 (+ 4) = 274
franktangredi - 4 + 8 + 0 + 96 + 108 (+ 4) = 220
jarnon - 0 + 0 + 0 + 80 + 40 (+ 4) = 124
themanintheseersuckersuit - 0 + 0 + 0 + 96 + 0 (+ 4) = 100
Bob78164 - 4 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 (+ 4) = 8

ShamelessWeasel - 1,362.69

It's funny how you have such a desperate need for people to think you're smart, yet you always fail miserably. If you were five years old, it would be cute. On you, it's just pathetic. We all know you have very low self-esteem, and most of us understand why. "The half-life of facts" is not a proven scientific fact. It's a catchy title of a couple of books and/or papers. None, of them, however, tie the half-life to a person's lifetime. They simply state that within each different discipline, half of the "facts" will be proven untrue in some time period. The half-life differs for each discipline and does not apply generally to all "facts."

There are lots of people on the Bored that are smarter than me. A lot of them were smart enough to ignore your game. If I count everyone (not just those who played), there are only 1520 people here smarter than you.

I don't know why you're so attracted to me, but it's embarrassing, as I only like women in that way. Again, I didn't play your game, so I shouldn't be on any scoring tally. That, of course, is unless you want to keep a list of people who caught your incorrect answers. I believe I top that list at 2.

Aren't Bored games fun?!

I thought there were a lot of clever ideas both in the setup and in the specific questions for the game, and the pastor is to be commended for that. The trash talking stuff, not so much.
