Yup, you love 'em, but a week home is quite long enough LOL.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:It was nice having the kids home, but we were so busy during the break that I didn't get things done, plus they were fighting towards the end.
Jeff goes to work today and they go to school, so I will have the house to myself for the first time in a more than a week.

I never got it as a child, either. But then I was one of those freaky kids who WANTED to be in school rather than on vacation.peacock2121 wrote:I didn't mean that I don't get it as a mom, believe me, I get it.
I didn't get it when I was a kid.
I thought it was just grand having us all under foot.

And???Deaf Mini wrote:It's funny--I enjoyed having a chance to sleep in for a week, and today the weather is so nice, I wished I could have let the kids stay home. But Mini-me is getting the Attendance NastyGrams after missing a week to go to Ireland.
Won't they just let you call in advance so you won't get the Attendance NastyGrams?Deaf Mini wrote:It's funny--I enjoyed having a chance to sleep in for a week, and today the weather is so nice, I wished I could have let the kids stay home. But Mini-me is getting the Attendance NastyGrams after missing a week to go to Ireland. And a Monday for the Super Bowl. And a Monday for some other trip. And maybe 3 days where he was actually sick.
So, no joy.
We bought coconuts and hollowed them about for the girls so they could pretend to be Patsy.Deaf Mini wrote:They went to Ireland. It rained. They saw lambs being born. And castles.
Then Steve took Mini-me on a side trip to London to give him a break from his cousin (Demon Child is definitely a small doses kind of kid) and they did all the touristy landmarks and saw Spamalot and he goes around clicking together things and riding an imaginary horse. We're raising him right!
The end.
Yes you are!Deaf Mini wrote: We're raising him right!

They knew in advance, but there is this automatic feature that kicks in at 7 absences, since I think the max is 21 before they just automatically fail you. They let you know when you are a third of the way to trouble.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:Won't they just let you call in advance so you won't get the Attendance NastyGrams?Deaf Mini wrote:It's funny--I enjoyed having a chance to sleep in for a week, and today the weather is so nice, I wished I could have let the kids stay home.
