Tech help needed.

I my friends 3 year old grand-daughter was watching videos on my laptop yesterday and messed everything up. She pushed some buttons she shouldn't have and screwed up the keyboard. If I try and type an m on my keyboard, this is what I get. "Mju7". I know there's a series of buttons to fix this but I don't what they are. Typing one letter at a time using the on screen keyboard is a huge pain in the ass. Please help.
Forgot to add: Tried the restore. Didn't work. Keys aren't sticky either. Nothing spilled on it.

The keyboard may not be sticky but it's screwed up. It either got wet or has junk in it. Have you tried Dust-Off or similar? If that doesn't work you'll need to take it to a repair place where they might be able to fix it but more probably they'll have to replace it.

Nothing got spilled on it as I said before. She was just pushing buttons on the keyboard when I wasn't looking, trying to get it to the full screen.

Try the Dust-Off. If that doesn't work you'll need to see a repairman.

Nothing would cause one keypress to generate "Mju7" except a hardware error. Anyway he did a full restore.

You say you type an "m" on your keyboard and get "Mju7". Is the first character really capitalized?
It is really interesting that mju7 all fall on the same diagonal line on the keyboard. I wondered if the kid might have dropped something like a pin under that row, but you said you're getting this with other keys, too, correct?
One fairly harmless thing you can try is to go into Control Panel > Device Manager > Keyboards. Drop down the keyboards icon. You should only see one item listed below "Keyboards." Right-click the name and uninstall it. Reboot your computer (the mouse will still work) and the OS will re-install the keyboard. If you're lucky, that alone might take care of the problem.

That the four letters are in the same column is exactly why I said there was a hardware problem. Since he did a full software restore to no effect removing the keyboard driver will be useless.

Pushing any key gives all the letters in that row . I just used the m as an example.

Then you should have explained yourself better. It seemed you hadn't even noticed.
