Oaklawn is a beautiful antebellum plantation manor and the site of many scenes of The Drowning Pool (a major disappointment to me when I finally saw it, and easy to see why I never heard of it before my visit to the manor), and by an amazing coincidence, the tour I was on was ending just as my boss's parents were arriving.

The encounter with the boss's parents was very pleasant. Dad noticed our Colorado plates, asked where we were from, and said, "Do you know your City Manager?" Sure, I said, he's my boss's boss.
The tour guide was unaccountably nonplussed by the arrival of the two RVs in the party. "Oh no!" she kept saying. "We're turning into an RV park!" Maybe she was worried about the adequacy of the parking, which would not have accommodated even one more RV.

Is that the one in St Francisville?

I was going to include that in the observation. The only town I found listed when I verified by looking at the photos that Oaklawn was indeed the manor we had visited was Franklin, LA.
