Can you tell I deactivated my FB account? So, ship the illegal peeps to DC rather than states Obama doesn't like? Discover some gas to justify droning the ISIS? Identify specific people who managed VA lists, scheduling, etc. and fix it?

I'm not sure there are any states, in this country, Obama likes. He's basically screwed them all.

I hear he's going to run for office in Afghanistan. He'll win by a landslide there. Or Iraq. He's pretty popular with the ruling, or soon to be ruling, parties over there.

Why did you deactivate your FB account? (Asks a newly assimilated unit of the collective.)

Avoiding all the political BS would be reason enough, but given the original post, it doesn't seem like that was the reason...

Don't worry, I'm not gonna be political trolling. I'm off fb for awhile because there's too much annoying stuff in the feed all day all the time. Decided life's too short. At least here you can be somewhat selective.

You have far better control over what's delivered into your News Feed on FB than you do in what you see here. Maybe you just need to learn how to control it.

I just dint want to have to. It wasn't the political posts, I don't mind peeps posting theeir personal views. It wqs all the "shares" with roving bands of wingnuts and moonbat comments. Equal opportunity annoyance.

I disagree. Here, you can mark some folks to have their posts not show up, and you can choose to click on a post or not. Helpful thread titles make this an easy choice fairly often.

I'm not saying you can't do those things on FB, but I disagree that FB is better in this regard. Possibly equal. Possibly here is better.

Also here we have no ads.

Here, I never feel overwhelmed by the clutter. There, it takes only seconds to feel that way.

True, it's someone else's account that I only use on occasion, so I don't know a lot of the people involved, but yikes there is a lot of crap. The day I was sure I would not be having an account was the day I saw a post about someone's baby's first fajita. I get wanting to tell about a baby's first word or first step, but not their first fajita. How does a baby eat a fajita anyway?

I have no ads on Facebook or any other site for that matter: I use the AdBlock Chrome extension.

That's great but I don't think it will block posts about babies having their first fajitas.

I know a grandmother who relishes everything her kids post about the grandkids, and I mean everything. A report about a first fajita would be delightful to her, especially if it was accompanied by a photo.

Having said that, I agree that everything that comes through on a daily feed is waaaaaay too much for me. I cut my feeds back to about half a dozen last year, and then when I got back from Alaska, I could never catch up even with those few, so I gave up trying. The only time I look in is when someone tells me in person to do so. I've found what works for me.
