Although anyone who gets to that level obviously has a lot on the ball, I don't think Julia ranks with the all time greats on the show. Obviously, the one thing we can't tell at home is how many questions Julia has gotten correctly because she knew what the others didn't and how many were due to superior buzzer mojo. However, in my view (considering the substantial number of questions she missed and triple stumpers), she had a good bit of luck in the form of fairly easy boards, less than stellar competition in many games, and exceptionally poor strategy by her opponents in the few games in which she could have been challenged. There's also the "beat down" factor, which has been evident in a number of games, where, at a certain point, her opponents seem to essentially concede defeat and go through the motions.

I'll be interested to see how she does in the next TOC, especially if they up the difficulty level on the questions.

Maybe it is just my opinion but if you can win $428K on J!, beating more than 40 opponents, you have a pretty good range of knowledge. Just sayin'.

On a radio interview that aired locally today, she allowed that she didn't make the wisest Final J! bet (apparently she's been getting flack on boards for that?) but says that it was because she had so little experience being behind coming in to Final J! & that it didn't matter anyway, because her opponent knew the answer, she didn't, & he had bet enough to beat her even if she had bet it all.
