Looks like I will be heading down there - this time, with my son and his roomie in tow. Got a bit of a chuckle when Dan told me (in all sincerity) that he didn't want to make it sound disrespectful, but he figured that he and the roomie were more the types of people the show was looking for. I took no offense whatsoever, of course...in fact, I gave him props for figuring things out...

Tell him that a good son would put in a plug for dear ol' dad during his audition!AlphaDummy wrote:Looks like I will be heading down there - this time, with my son and his roomie in tow. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your son and his roomie should have accompanied you on that other trip to Chicago. They'd probably have made it all the way through. (I didn't receive a call after the second trip. I'm assuming b/c of the demographic considerations.)AlphaDummy wrote:Looks like I will be heading down there - this time, with my son and his roomie in tow. Love,
Thanks!! Very tough for son to re-work his schedule for time off; this will be his first game-show audition of any kind...will be interesting to see how it shakes out, as a lot of people say he is pretty much a clone of his old man (although with marginally better hair).
Bummer about that other show...yeah, I think that one is very much driven by demographics...hopefully there will be an exception out there somewhere...

It's close enough to me but we're going to the Peoria Chief's baseball game that night. They're passing out Ozzie Smith Bobbleheads and I think I have a better chance making a million dollars off them than I do getting on the show.

Re: Another Road Audition!
Good luck to everyone! So now they have it in Naperville? Tips for those going- Portillos restaurant is located very close (route 59 and Jefferson) and the food and price are great! For shoppers, Crate and Barrel outlet on Jefferson St along with the Land of Nod outlet. Downtown Naperville on Washington is fun to walk around and they have Lou Malnati's pizza and Ted's Montana Grill.
Warning: route 59 is under construction so allow extra time during rush hour. Raymond Road/Ferry Road is an alternate.

This'll be the first time in a while that I haven't gone to a Las Vegas audition. --Bob, still swimmingjarnon wrote:Here's one more:

They're going to Las Vegas on June 11, before heading back east to Naperville on the 13th? That sounds like Vegas may be the only western road trip, this season.

I might be going with a friend to the "Chicago" audition (Naperville is about 45 minutes west of the city) as a coach and moral support. Sidelined naturally because of the cooling off period so this will be an interesting perspective.

AD,
I'm glad to hear your son is going to give it a try. A non-Mawg from Wisconsin is a great demographic.
Good Luck to you all.
