I know it seems that all I do is complain these days, but I'm going to do it again. I'm supposed to have help with my expanded responsibilities for administering 7 databases and such, and the person that is supposed to be that help is supposed to have experience. But she keeps coming to me and asking me to explain something to her or else take it over because "it's over my head".

Can you discuss the situation with the person you and your assistant report to?

I suppose so but it would avail nothing because my backup, for all her flaws, is still better than anyone else on my team in the areas of my responsibility.
