If you wanted to see the world's tallest statue of Jesus Christ, to which country would you need to travel?

It's Brazil, right? Christ the Redeemer is the most famous Jesus statue in the world, and it towers above Rio de Janeiro.

Wrong! It only looks taller because it sits atop the 2,300-foot-tall Corcovado. It might be the highest Jesus statue in the world, but I asked for tallest.

Christ the Redeemer is 99 feet tall without its pedestal... but it's not even the tallest Jesus statue in South America, much less the world. Cristo de la Concordia in Cochabamba, Bolivia, was completed in 1994 and is 112.2 feet tall without its pedestal. If you count pedestals and man-made mounds, then the title of "tallest Jesus statue in the world" goes to Christ the King in Swiebodzin, Poland, which was completed in 2010 and officially measures in at 172 feet--far taller than Christ the Redeemer (124 feet).

So I would have accepted either Bolivia or Poland as a winning answer. But Brazil was definitely wrong, as a couple of you suspected. Bob J was the only person to give me a correct answer, so he doubles his entire score for the week. TMITSSS went for the obvious answer and became the first person in this series to lose all of his or her points for the week. But we still have plenty of time and plenty of questions to make up for that loss.

I think the statue of Christ at the highest altitude is Christ the Redeemer of the Andes at 12,572 feet. I've been there.
