Looks like we really are getting back to new episodes next week!

George Cooper, from Bonner Springs, Kansas, will enter the Hot Seat next Friday. He gets a nice, long article about it here.

Warning! There are some generic spoilers in the article! Heck, there's a generic spoiler in the URL.

Cooper auditioned for the show in Martin City, Mo., after he saw an ad for it and a friend encouraged him.

“My buddy said, ‘Heck yeah, you know all that useless information,’” Cooper said.
Uh huh.
In addition to speaking with a Midwestern drawl, Cooper, a lifelong Wyandotte County resident, opted to wear what he says he always wears: overalls.
And a plaid shirt! You ol' fashionplate, George!
Cooper said he still hopes to someday appear on his favorite show, “Jeopardy.”
Ouch. Lotta gratitude there, George, admitting that WWTBAM isn't your favorite game show, when your episode hasn't even aired yet.

I never knew one could have a "Midwestern" drawl.

Same here. "Drawl" is southern to me, all the rest would be an accent. I do not believe that I have an accent--others might disagree with this.

I agree with the term "Midwestern drawl". My in-laws are in Kansas, as midwestern as you can get, and they definitely have a drawl that's distinct from a full Southern version.
