Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Here comes the first set of answers and points for this contest. This will also be the first indication to everybody on just how strict I will be with the judging on the answers.

1. BAKED POTATOES / QUESTIONS / GUNS / BASES

Almost everybody got this one: Things that can be loaded.

2. ROOT BEER / WATERMELON CANDY / SPARKLING MANDARIN ORANGE / ITALIAN SALAD

They all definitely taste good, but that can be said for thousands of things. Specifically, these are all former flavors of Jell-O brand gelatin.

3. LORNA SALZMAN / VICTORIA WOODHULL / ROSEANNE BARR / CYNTHIA MCKINNEY

Women who ran for U.S. President. Sorry, TMITSSS, but Woodhull ran on the Equal Rights Party ticket, not the Green Party ticket. To plasticene, only Roseanne ran in 2012.

4. MALINA / MERI / RA / HELIOS

Helios should have put you in the right direction. Deities of the Sun.

5. JUDY HOLLIDAY / JUDY GARLAND / STAN LAUREL / GROUCHO MARX

Film titles with the word "Born" definitely applies to the first two names... but not to all four names. I'm surprised that smiler didn't get this one. All of these performers turned down roles in "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World".

6. ELEPHANT SHREW / HONEY BADGER / RED PANDA / KILLER WHALE

Misnomer animals. The elephant shrew is actually an opossum relative, the honey badger is actually a weasel, the red panda is actually a raccoon, and the killer whale is actually a dolphin.

7. WHERE IN THE WORLD IS SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA / SUPER BUZZERS / WHO'S ON TOP / OLD FRENCH WHORE

"Saturday Night Live" game show parodies.

8. MAXIMILIAN I / GARY GILMORE / BREAKER MORANT / BENITO MUSSOLINI

They were all executed by firing squads.

9. GEORGE FOREMAN / EMERIL LAGASSE / MARTIN LAWRENCE / REBA MCENTIRE

They all starred in their own sitcoms whose titles were simply their first names.

10. CHICKEN / TURKEY / MASHED POTATO / SALSA

More tasty things... but, again, that could be said about anything. The singular potato might have been a clue to the category. What I wanted to hear was foods that are also names of dances.

The number of participants in each week of games will be shown because it is one of the keys to the end-of-week bonus. For every person who participates in a week, 1 point will go into the bonus pot (2 points per player starting in Week 5, 4 points per player starting in Week 9). The more players we have, the bigger the pot is. All bonus pots are guaranteed to be won at the end of their respective weeks. They may be won by one person or they may be equally divided between two or players.

I wasn't even aware I was particpating here. However, if I am participating, under the Cliff Klaven rule, my answer should have been ruled correct.

Why should I care who wasn't in my favorite movie?
