Can ask I ask how many posts I will need to hit 10,000?littlebeast13 wrote:Congrats on becoming the 35th member of the 10,000 post club! Just over 11 months since HoltDad became the last BB to enter the 10K club in late April 2007.
We shouldn't have to wait as long for our next 5 digit poster with the way PSM's rocketing up the charts. It's interesting, though, that our next 2 BB's who will likely get to 10K were not even in the Top 50 11 months ago when HD became the 34th with 10K posts.....

How original is original? I didn't discover that board until around November 1999, but I think it took me a couple of months to post, because posting seemed scary back then.Jeemie wrote:
There can't be that many people left who have been continuously registered since the original ABC-Go BAM site opened in 1999.
Who is still here that was an original?
Sep 1999 for me...although I didn't make a post until November, IIRC.
He's comparing our rankings this week with our rankings from exactly five years ago (which is the number in parentheses). You don't have a number in parentheses because you were entirely unranked five years ago (meaning you had fewer than 300 total posts back then). You've come all that way out of nowhere in five short years!kayrharris wrote:I don't understand any of this anyway. I don't have a number in parentheses
after my name, and LB explained it nicely. Of course, I don't understand the explanation.![]()

LB once figured out some old-timers' approximate registration dates based upon their GO numbers, although that was somewhat skewed by those who registered on ESPN even earlier, IIRC.

My mom has been trying to figure out what year she was diagnosed with breat cancer. I know it was the January before I started posting here. I will now tell her it was 2001.Jeemie wrote:I thought I was earlier than that- guess not.
Maybe I was reading w/o registering for a while.

No way I'm gonna quibble with LB's data . . . well, I quibbled with him about whether Katie Knudsen punched hubby, and since I was right about that, onward!
I know I started posting in March because my first three or four posts were about the NCAA basketball tournament. One guy was plopped down on his couch with icy Coronas next to him and only basketball in front of him, and I replied to that. I made a cyberbet with Jayhawker (I think) -- somebody from Kansas, anyway.
I remember coming to the Bored in February 2000 because of my first successful callback. I must not have registered, however, or else I used a different handle (though I've never used anything other than some variation of "earendel" on message boards).Jeemie wrote:I thought I was earlier than that- guess not.
