March 14, 2008 Day 5, Road Harbor Tortola, BVI
Mostly Sunny, High of 82 F, 28 C, Low of 70 F, 21 C
Very exciting day ahead. After breakfast and a soak in the hot tub, I waved goodbye to the folks and headed out on an expedition. We arrived at the Dolphin Encounter around 11:00 am, got changed into our suits, fitted with swim vests, and headed to the water.
There were about 9 of us on the tour. We stood on a submerged platform, and soon we had the pleasure of meeting Zeus, a 35 year old male dolphin. He welcomed us with a splash of water on our faces, and then did a few leaps. We got to meet him individually, and he gave us each a kiss and received one. Then he tail walked with flippers out, as a “dance” I got to feed him some squid which was very cool. After about 45 mins, we were done and said goodbye. A visit for a lifetime memory.
Upstairs, we each got a DVD of our trip, and some still shots. Did a little shopping, and then we headed back to the ship. Stopped at a small market and got a few more things, and by 2:00 I was at the Pool. “Miss Patricia?” Hmmmm, “ A Rusty Nail today please”
A small power nap, a dip in the pool, and off to shower and change for dinner. It was in the Grand tonight, a little more formal that most other dining areas. I had a lobster and mushroom wrap, Caesar salad, and beef tenderloin. Lots of wine, and a chocolate volcano cake for dessert.
Mom and Dad retired early, and I headed to the Regatta Lounge with some “younger” folks, who were the kids of friends of my parents, also travelling as a family. It was 50’s and 60’s night, and we had a blast. Dint make it to bed until Midnight.
