Anchorman 2 Gets Even More Classy

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Mon Feb 24, 2014 1:05 pm

In what may be a first, Anchorman 2, the Will Ferrell comedy in theaters last Christmas is being re-released this week in a 20-minute longer, R-rated cut (the original film was PG-13). Although many films have unrated extended cuts on DVD, it's usually only a couple of minutes of sexy or violent footage added. This time Ferrell and director Adam McKay claim they've replaced almost all the jokes from the original cut with new material (they claim there are 763 new jokes).

Since much of the original dialogue was improvised, there's undoubtedly a lot of unused material and alternate versions of scenes floating around. My guess would be that a lot of them are close to the original material with a few extra profanities thrown in. Still, it's a great marketing gimmick, leading up to both versions being released on home video in April.

Are we completely sure this is not being done to improve the movie's chances at the Oscars?
..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

If they get an Oscar in every category in which they were nominated, that would give them a total of

zero.

But they don't know that. They don't believe that. Not until Ron does the special Oscar awards livecast.
