Ready to play "Laptop Frisbee".

Ok, I know it's not the laptop, it's me. Ever since I've had this stinking stroke, if I don't pay attention to what my left hand is doing, I leave it on the pad and when I move the cursor with my right hand, the text size changes. Is there anyway to lock the text size so this doesn't happen or am I doomed to this frustration. I know I could use a mouse but I use the laptop when I'm in bed if I don't feel like getting up right away in the morning. Thanks in advance for the help.

P.S. I have Windows 8.

By "pad" do you mean the touchpad? Are you pressing the pad with a left finger while moving a right finger? If so, that's something unique about your laptop and not a Windows feature.

Yes, the touchpad. I like having the text size a little larger than the norm. I've tried looking in the user guide for help but it's been useless.

What browser do you use? It could be a feature of that.

I found an article --
http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/3-ways-to- ... -gestures/ -- that explains how to turn off this feature:
Open the Control Panel, click the Hardware and Sound category, and select Mouse under Devices and Printers. Click over to the Device Settings tab (you should see this if you have a Synaptics touchpad driver installed), click the Settings button, and uncheck the Enable Edge Swipes option. Click OK to save your settings.
You can always change the text size using Ctrl-plus and Ctrl-minus. Ctrl-zero should return the text to its original size.
I don't know for sure if this will work, because I don't have Windows 8. I hope it's helpful, though.

Back in November. It's nothing major. Just a bump in the road. Weakness on my left side. I'll be close to 100% by summer.
