Idol Chatter - The Top Ten

#1 Post by Sir_Galahad » Tue Mar 25, 2008 7:46 pm

For me, this was one of my favorite nights of the competition thus far. Lots of great stuff with minimal negatives. We're getting down to the nitty-gritty as they say.

Ramiele - I liked, not loved her performance of Alone. This is one of those songs I could listen to over and over again. She wasn't quite at the "A" level but she wasn't far off. I heard a couple of off-key notes but not too much damage was done.

Jason - For me, if Jason was booted I would have no problem with that. He's a likeable guy but his comfort zone of songs puts me to sleep, even if he does do them well. He won't leave yet, though.

Syesha - I don't know whose song it was that she sung but I thought it was terrific.

Brooke - I completely agreed with Simon. She should have just sung the entire number with only the piano accompaniment. It would have sounded better and would have raised her mark to a B+ from the B that I gave it.

Carly - Another of those songs that I could listen to ad infinitum and not get tired of it. She's got the Bonnie Tyler raspiness to her voice that I like. I liked her rendition even if she didn't really bring anything new to it.

Chikezie - I didn't know the song but he was OK. I much preferred his rendition of She's A Woman.

David - Very consistent, he is and I liked that he took it uptempo a bit this week.

Michael - Again I agreed with Simon in that this was his best performance to date.

Kristy - Perfect song choice for her. I caught a couple of pitchy spots but we know the road she should be going down and this was it. Also, her best performance of the season.

David C - This is the only contestant this year who CD I would actually go buy. What an outstanding rendition of Billie Jean. I am beginning to think that the other David may not have a lock on this year after all. I'm thinking David could actually do better than Daughtry in the real world.

Who will leave tomorrow - I think it will either be Chikezie or Ramielle.

Sir G, I just want to thank you for being someone who actually likes Bonnie Tyler as much as I do. Wasn't crazy about the rendition though.

I really like Jason but I think he's getting a little lazy and relying on his charm too much. He needs to really step it up next week.

As for Brooke, I heard about 3 notes of that song and flipped on the Days of our Lives that I had taped until it was over. Can't stand her or that song. She should have went the week David Hernandez went. She's obviously getting the Carrie Underwood - country vote. BTW, has anyone else heard the rumours that Carrie is hell on wheels and a total B*TCH? Just wondering.

I noticed that Simon mentioned that he didn't think that David Archuleta had chosen his song. This is another story I heard on one of the tabloid shows - his father is apparently the stage father from hell.

David Cook was very good tonight and could win it but I think he will end up in exactly the same position as Chris Daughtry and that ain't bad is it Taylor Hicks?

And now my fav from the onset has been Michael Johns and he didn't disappoint tonight again.
