Mama's Caribbean Odyssey day 2

Tuesday March 11 – at sea

Awoke at around 7 am, and got dressed. I headed upstairs to Horizon’s, the lounge on the upper deck at the bow. It is completely glassed in, so you had a magnificent view of the ocean and the sunrise. Got a coffee, and sat contemplating my navel for about an hour.

I joined Mom and Dad at 8 for Breakfast in the Grand. Had Eggs Benedict, fresh orange juice, and coffee. Later I went exploring all the areas of the ship. That took about 2 hours, then I got my bathing suit on and headed to the pool deck. 8)

Pool was too cold, being freshly filled with sea water, so I stuck to the hot tub. I set myself a goal, to have one different “drink of the day” throughout the cruise. Today’s drink was Planter’s punch.

OY!

Spent about 1 ½ hours poolside, back and forth from sun to shade, then headed down to change for High Tea at 4.00. China, Silver, waiters in white dress jackets, 20 different teas, small sandwiches and a cart of sweets.

That was wonderful. We had reservations at the Toscana restaurant for 7:30. This was a great Italian place. I had the breaded prawns, Caesar salad, and the Lobster pasta platter. Wine, of course, and then cheesecake for dessert.

(my thyroid dint stand a chance, and I have put on about 10 pounds LOL)

After dinner we went to the Regatta lounge to see the comedy and magic show, at by 11 pm I was totally done in. Crawled into bed, and didn’t move until 7 am.

I love that you are doing this.

I want to know everything.

I want to have the experience you had.

Thank you.

OY!
An entertaining goal, but I'm having trouble interpreting your review of the drink. Does the "OY!" mean that the potency of the Planter's punch led to a hang-over? Or...what? :?

It means that, for someone who normally doesn't have more than about 12 drinks in an entire year, and usually just scotch and water at that, having at least one everyday was a radical situation for moi.

I just lost one of my mental pictures. I have always had a mental picture of A1macat as someone who really enjoys a drink-not a drunk-just somebody who kicks back with a Scotch and Water every night. I am very happy about the Scotch and Water thing tho-as that fits the image.
