My blog has been inundated over the last 24 hours by search engine users (mainly Google it seems) looking for "russian squirrel". These searches seem to all be coming from the US. Is there some trending topic I am missing out on that would be causing this sudden influx?

One of yesterday's stranger headlines around the world concerned the increasing disappearance of squirrels from parks in Moscow. Authorities say the critters are being poached to be resold as trendy housepets for approximately 5,000 rubles each.
