Cathy McMorris Rodgers

She's the Representative from Washington state who will be giving the response to the State of the Union Address.
I just looking into her background and found she's quite liberal. In fact the only thing I can disagree with her on is her opposition to Obamacare. That means most of her colleagues in Congress don't agree with her.

Now I've looked her up too. I found out she opposed legalizing pot in Washington.
I also learned that Washington has open primaries. That might make Rep. McMorris Rodgers more willing to take moderate positions without fearing a backlash from the right wing.
She's a big improvement over Michele Bachmann.

I didn't see that she opposed legalizing pot in Washington. Make that two.
A week-old dead fish would be an improvement over Michele Bachmann.

. . .
I can't remember how I voted on medical marijuana here in Colorado.
I do remember how I voted on recreational marijuana -- no. Along with many others, I was worried about the additional access, mostly for teens. This has come to pass, along with another dreadful unforeseen consequence -- apparently the fragrance is extremely attractive to canines, and the vet that MatiasMom works for has seen three much-loved pets in their ER because the drug itself is toxic to them. All three of those survived, but there have been many that didn't.

But do Rep. Rodgers and her husband like corn dogs, though?
Be careful when Googling for this reference. The results are NSFW.

Typical Tea Party response to refer to a Republican Congressperson who actually thinks about positions on issues instead of blindly toeing the Tea Party line as being "shared garbage."

I took it to be directed at the pastor who can't tell the difference between a corn dog and a penis.

You be correct.
The Tea Party is the only entity in Washington that does think about positions on issues and doesn't blindly toe the line.
