It is probably from this century, so I will guess the Red Sox because they have won the Series the most times, which ironically makes them the Yankees of the 21st Century.
The year is 2095. The Red Sox have won the World Series 26 times this century, the most of any team. The Yankees have not won it in 86 years, and the writers call it the Curse of A-Rod. In the ALCS the Sox go up 3-0 on the Yankees while their fans chant "two-thou-sand-nine." The Yanks then win 4 straight to go to the World Series against St. Louis. It is probably from this century, so I will guess the Red Sox because they have won the Series the most times, which ironically makes them the Yankees of the 21st Century.
The year is 2095. The Red Sox have won the World Series 26 times this century, the most of any team. The Yankees have not won it in 86 years, and the writers call it the Curse of A-Rod. In the ALCS the Sox go up 3-0 on the Yankees while their fans chant "two-thou-sand-nine." The Yanks then win 4 straight to go to the World Series against St. Louis. The Cardinals are managed by Tony La Doucha, who is considered a genius for his strategies of changing pitchers during every inning and batting the pitcher 8th even though both leagues have had the DH for many years now. The Cards won 120 games during the regular season, but they somehow get only two hits during the Series, and the Yankees sweep it to break the curse.
