High School Hockey - 100 points

My cousin's son scored his 100th point today.
Googling it (no need to BobJ I already did) makes me think this is quite an accomplishment.
For those who are hockey fans, let me know how much of an accomplishment this is because we didn't have a hockey team at my high school
