Another interview

#1 Post by gsabc » Fri Jan 10, 2014 5:48 am

Yet another interview this AM. Requesting heavy positive vibes starting at 9:30 AM EST. Thank you in advance. That is all.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Break a leg! (Yes, acting is required.)

good luck! (a bit retroactively but sending vibes to the interviewer can still work at this point)

Back. Went well, as far as I'm able to tell. Hit a bunch of positive hot buttons for each interviewer, things they are looking for in whoever they hire. Next step would be 2nd interview with brand-new CEO (press release announcing his presence was issued this past Tuesday) and probably with the QA/QC group. Commute is not evil, and potentially via public transportation which they partially subsidize as part of the benefits. We'll see.

Re: Another interview - Update

Just got back from 2nd interview, this time with the other folks that I'll have to work with. Thought these also went well. Don't want to go into details for fear of tempting fate. Yeah, it's not logical, but there have been incidents in the past ...

Tomorrow afternoon I get to do a Skype interview with their new CEO. After that, I wait for the results.

Re: Another interview - same result

Crap. Just got the word from the recruiter. They're "going in another direction" with the position, another case of ever-so-useful feedback. The recruiter even said they wasn't another candidate they were hiring instead of me. A second recruiter had also contacted me for this same position, thinking I was a good fit. The recruiters think I'm a match; why don't they? WTF are they looking for out there???

A very bummed gsabc

Sorry, gsabc. They're looking for the same thing SyndieBAM producers are looking for. :(

Maybe if you had convinced the interviewer to help you with a brief juggling demonstration. :|

They're probably looking for someone with the same amount of experience but 20 years younger. :x

Yep, I've been lied to again. Today, I get contacted by a recruiter who has my resume from a submission via LinkedIn. Problem was that another recruiter had already submitted me for the LinkedIn position - the one I've described here. Today's "new" job description is exactly the same one from LinkedIn. The recruiter must have forgotten that we had already been in touch about it. "Going in another direction with the position", my ass. I suppose by that, they could just have meant "in a direction away from me". :x

Maybe one day, I'll get some meaningful feedback so that I can figure out what I'm doing wrong or what skills I'm missing. Today isn't that day.
