There was a smattering of snow on the ground this morning and a forecast for a "wintry mix" of snow and sleet this afternoon (which hasn't materialized yet).

For those who follow college football, our local university lost its head coach - he took the head coaching position at the University of Texas. Apparently the university's athletic director decided to hire a previous coach to fill the position - Bobby Petrino, who left U of L to go to the pros (Atlanta Falcons) and left that team before his first season was over. He went to Arkansas, where he got into trouble for putting his mistress on the payroll (discovered after she and he were involved in a motorcycle accident). From there he went to Western Kentucky University (this was his first year) and now he's coming full circle. I think my favorite comment about this situation came from a friend on Facebook. He opined, "Louisville is surely environmentally sensitive - it's recycling its trash."

Yeah, but it's become a habit.

Most colleges would hire the devil himself as coach if he had a winning record against ranked opponents.

As Reagan said, "It's morning in America."
