Absolutely totally relaxed from the holiday cruise. Arrived back in Miami on Saturday, smooth sailing, (pun intended) all the way.....until the plane change in DFW.

Rushed through, as we were about 15 mins late landing, and our connection was on the other side of the continent, so it seemed, so we took a little etrain to get there. Got on, settled, then proceeded to watch them stop loading the baggage, and instead start unloading..

not a good omen. Seems there was an interior hole in the cargo bay. What interior means, I can't figure out, but the captain (after 1 hour of settin',) finally said about the hole, and that is wasn't anything to do with the plane structure, but they were fixing it anyway.

Now, after 1 1/2 hour delay, we finally get underway. Sitting pretty far back, row 30. Lots of kids on the flight. I like kids, in general, but not when they are having hissy fits about having to sit down during take off etc.

We've been on the go since 11 am Miami time, with no time to get anything to eat since breakie on the ship at 8. Hostess advises that they will begin a food service, but they only have a few sammies. These apparantly ran out about row 10.

Not a big deal, except for the kidlets around us. All they had left were cookies, chips and trail mix. Suuuuure, sugar them up with no where to go!!!

Throat is starting to feel scratchy from plane air. We land in Vancouver about 9:00 pm Pacific, about 2 hours late. We have a connector to catch to Victoria at 12:00, so we're golden....but none of the restaurants or stores are open. We resorted to pastries and coffee at Starbucks.

Got home yesterday, and headed over to pick up Big J and hamster. Took him, and my ex out for Chinese food, drove ex home, got hamster and Big J's stuff, about a 15 min proposition, went down and now car decides that it does not wish to engage any gears. I can start it, move it out of park, but the actual change does not happen. Car starts to roll backwards out of the parking stall.

Had to get two passing guys to help me push it back in, threw on the emerge, and got out. It had been raining, but was now snowing wet fat cold flakes. Easter Sunday, of course, so no mechanic open. That is todays challenge.

Woke up this morning, with full blown sore throat, congestion and fever. Have to go back to work tomorrow.

'sigh'

Oh man, I hope that your week improves.

I hope that your transmission doesn't need to be replaced, that's an expensive repair.

Being the glass-half-full type (Ha! Ask my wife about that one) I see this as absolutely good news.

After all, what if you would have gotten sick a week ago -- you couldn't have enjoyed your cruise nearly as much.

We are still waiting for the in-depth report, of course.....

Never use the words "in-depth" and "cruise" in the same sentence, mrkelley!
