ANSWERS/POINTS LS METAL MONDAY March 24

Today has a little of everything. It's a little heavier on the metal than other Mondays, along with a dash of match up the theme usually reserved for Thursday. And this is the last week, so answer early and often!

Bonus Instrumental: This tune is most often associated with Perez Prado, but it originated with this bandleader.
Bonus Bonus: The above bandleader was married to what WWII pin-up girl/actress?
Super Bonus: Hey, it looks like there’s a theme today, too (even the bonus instrumental fits into the theme)! What’s the theme and can you pair up the songs according to that theme?

It's hard for me to come up with this one though it's familiar, because all I can think of after seeing that first line is All You Zombies, and that ruins any chance of me picking up the melody...

Purple Haze - Jimmy Hendrix
9. Yes, I'm let loose

In the White Room - Cream (This almost made it in Charles Fox's game back in January. "Platform tickets" sounds a bit to me like "That one dickhead"....)
There definitely seems to be colors in the theme, and I'm guessing it's the same colors in the title and artist, thus 5 & 8 likely go together. After that I have no idea, but I feel better about my guess on #7 now. I figure there's probably something by Black Sabbath and/or White Zombie in here, so I'll blanket SWAG Sabbath as the artist for all of the songs I did not answer.....

Time for another made-up title to take the place of saying NAC and offically count as playing today's game.
4. Make a joke and I will sigh and you will laugh and I will cry
Happiness I can not feel and love to me is so unreal
And so as you hear these words telling you now of my state
I tell you to enjoy life I wish I could but it’s too late

So instead of nickel, copper and zinc, we're dealing with lead, tungsten and osmium.

My flaming tricks have topped the bill

Endless trains of one night stands
Sharing gigs with half-assed bands
And all the local groupies lay the same
I'm a Redneck Asshole - Toby Keith
3. Then she opened up a book of poems
And handed it to me
Written by an Italian poet
From the thirteenth century
There's a metal version of this? Tangled Up in Blue - Bob Dylan
4. Make a joke and I will sigh and you will laugh and I will cry
Happiness I can not feel and love to me is so unreal
And so as you hear these words telling you now of my state
I tell you to enjoy life I wish I could but it’s too late
Paranoid - Black Sabbath
5. We all came out to Montreux on the Lake Geneva shoreline
To make records with a mobile - We didn't have much time
Frank Zappa & the Mothers were at the best place around
But some stupid with a flare gun burned the place to the ground
Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple
6. Everyday I wake up
I thank God that you are
Still a part of me
Opened up the door to which
So many people never find the key
You're So Cute and I Love the Crap Out of You - Red Dawn
7. With a purposeful grimace and a terrible sound

Back in Black - AC/DC
10. You said no things

Restless diesels
Goodbye windows
White Room - Cream
Bonus Instrumental: This tune is most often associated with Perez Prado, but it originated with this bandleader.
Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom Wine - Harry James
Bonus Bonus: The above bandleader was married to what WWII pin-up girl/actress?
Jane Russell?
Super Bonus: Hey, it looks like there’s a theme today, too (even the bonus instrumental fits into the theme)! What’s the theme and can you pair up the songs according to that theme?
Colors, of course.
#3 goes with #7 (blue)
#4 goes with #9 (black)
#5 goes with #8 (purple)
So I need another white, and an entirely different color as well. Hm...
Ok, I've got #1 with #10
Which leaves #2 with #6
It looks more specifically like, at least in the ones I know, a song with a color in the title matches with a song with the same color in the artist's name. I'm going to guess that's the full theme.

1. Lunatic Fringe (aka "Learn to Talk French") - Red Ryder
2. WAGgin' something by Great White
3. Tangled Up in Blue - You want Robert Zimmerman here, but I absolutely LOVE the cover by Indigo Girls on their live album "1200 Curfews". Rock cello....nuthin' like it. And they kinda fit the theme, too.
4. Paranoid - Black Sabbath (Ozzy solo don't fit)
5. Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple
6. Something Reddish.
7. Godzilla (or, in Japan, "Gojira") - Blue Oyster Cult (I can't do the umlauts, sorry)
8. Purple Haze - Jimi H.
9. Back in Black - AC/DC
10. White Room - Cream
Bonus Instrumental: This tune is most often associated with Perez Prado, but it originated with this bandleader.
Prolly Xavier Cugat or Tito Puente (but since Tito is considerably younger, and doesn't fit the next one, it's probably not him).
Bonus Bonus: The above bandleader was married to what WWII pin-up girl/actress?
Well, it must not be Cugat, either, since the only person I can think of he was married to that was famous was Charo, and she's not old enough to have been a pin-up girl.
I'll WAG Betty Grable (cuz I don't think it's Bettie Page), but I have no idea who she was married to.
Super Bonus: Hey, it looks like there’s a theme today, too (even the bonus instrumental fits into the theme)! What’s the theme and can you pair up the songs according to that theme?
It's a colorful game, as always. A color in the tile paired to a color in the band name.
1-6
2-10
3-7
4-9
5-8

1. Nope
2. Nope
3. It's Bob Dylan but I'm not sure of the name
4. Nope
5. Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple
6. Nope
7. Nope
8. Purple Haze - Jimi Hendrix
9. Nope
10. White Room - Cream
What little above is colors so I am thinking the song is Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White. The bandleader was Harry James, who was married to Betty Grable.

Maybe there's still time to get this in before scores are posted?
1.
2.
3.
4.
5. Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple
6.
7.
8. Purple Haze - Jimi Hendrix
9.
10. White Room - Cream
Bonus Instrumental: Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White is the song, but don't know the bandleader.
Bonus Bonus: The only WWII pin-up girl/actress I can think of is Betty Grable, so that's my guess.
Super Bonus: Only three songs to play with, so I'll go 5 & 10 for "purple" in the group name and the song title.

Today has a little of everything. It's a little heavier on the metal than other Mondays, along with a dash of match up the theme usually reserved for Thursday. And this is the last week, so answer early and often!

This optimistic spirit sounds lije PINK FLOYD, as a pure guess. Somewhere from ANOTHE R BRICK IN THE WALL. The only lyrics I actually remember being the ones about school..
2. From Kegger's Den to Hooterville
My flaming tricks have topped the bill
A thousand empty bottles earn my name
Endless trains of one night stands
Sharing gigs with half-assed bands
And all the local groupies lay the same
3. Then she opened up a book of poems
And handed it to me
Written by an Italian poet
From the thirteenth century
4. Make a joke and I will sigh and you will laugh and I will cry
Happiness I can not feel and love to me is so unreal
And so as you hear these words telling you now of my state
I tell you to enjoy life I wish I could but it’s too late
5. We all came out to Montreux on the Lake Geneva shoreline
To make records with a mobile - We didn't have much time
Frank Zappa & the Mothers were at the best place around
But some stupid with a flare gun burned the place to the ground
SMOKE ON THE WATER - DEEP PURPLE
6. Everyday I wake up
I thank God that you are
Still a part of me
Opened up the door to which
So many people never find the key
7. With a purposeful grimace and a terrible sound
He pulls the spitting high tension wires down
Helpless people on a subway train
Scream bug-eyed as he looks in on them
IRON AMN - BLACK SABBATH
8. Don't know if its day or night
You got me blowin', blowin' my mind
Is it tomorrow, or just the end of time
9. Yes, I'm let loose
From the noose
That's kept me hanging about
I've been looking at the sky
'Cause it's gettin' me high
Forget the hearse 'cause I never die
10. You said no things
Could secure you
At the station
Platform tickets
Restless diesels
Goodbye windows
WHITE ROOM _ CREAM
IN ORDR TO MAKE A PAIRING PICK GREAT WHITE FOR ALL THE NON_IDENTIFIED BROUPS>
Bonus Instrumental: This tune is most often associated with Perez Prado, but it originated with this bandleader. Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White, and I am stuck, so will go with Xavier Cugat.
Bonus Bonus: The above bandleader was married to what WWII pin-up girl/actress?
Super Bonus: Hey, it looks like there’s a theme today, too (even the bonus instrumental fits into the theme)! What’s the theme and can you pair up the songs according to that theme?
The theme is "Colours" and I did not know enough to pair the songs up. Except 10 with half of the bonus. But I could clear a room quickly by "singing" the Donovan song of the same name....
