top o' the mornin'® 12/30/2013

Counting down the days and hours until the new year begins. We got word that effective January 1 we're getting a 1% pay raise (after several years of no increase).

This blows me away because of the way my employer is considered to be stingy compared to other places. I've gotten 20 raises since I started working at Mecca in '98, with #21 coming up this May... and none of them were even remotely bad as 1% increases...

It's because Federal employees are everyone's favorite punching bag when it comes to budget-cutting. But I'm just happy to be working.
