One of the world's leading romance novel writers, whose books may have sold as many as 300 million copies, a figure our own Vandal should match sometime next summer. She wrote about one book a month (many for Harlequin), despite imposing a ten-page-a-day limit for herself. She became a secretary right out of high school and soon married the boss, before turning to writing at age 30.

Age 69.
