CSLS 11/22:Earendel #2 Edition

#1 Post by ShamelessWeasel » Fri Nov 22, 2013 8:01 am

Welcome to the second CSLS from Earendel. Earendel will get the high score for the day.

This is a matching game today. I think the matches will be obvious. The songs themselves may be harder.

Points are going to be a bit different today. .5 points for the song, .5 for the artist. 1 point per match. 4 points for the krox (this must be 2 song/artist that match per the theme, no dup songs allowed but dup ideas are). This adds up to 25.

And get ready for Monday's extra special CSLS when a good friend of the CSLS will post a game that will surely honor the tradition of the CSLS.

1. I'll always be blamed
For what I was named
But still I'm not ashamed

2."All my time has kept goin' away
I got my money and my honey
And I'm gonna stay to play"

3. Say you love me until you do so
Joso singing just like Caruso
Three little words roll off your tongue

4. And I couldn't bear to wait around
For all your nighttime lovers
To go the way they came
Then it came to hurt too much for me

5. "And I don't believe it
Is she really gone again?
[Repeat]
I'll find a way to you someday"
[Repeat]

6. Dressed up to the eyes
It's a wonderful surprise
To see your shoes and your spirits rise

7. Big Jim's been drinkin' whiskey
And playing poker on a losin' night
Pretty soon Big Jim starts a thinkin'
Somebody been cheatin' and lyin'

8. "She is soft, she is warm,
But my heart remains heavy,
And I watch as her breasts
Gently rise, gently fall"

9.My girl awaaits for me in tender time
My girl is mine, she is the world
She is my girl

10. So come and talk to me on my computer screen
The best years of our lives aren't as easy as they seem
And one day we'll look back, and then we'll have to laugh

11.Slow motion riders fly the colors of the day
A bronze man still can tell stories his own way

12. "You're that much a part of me now.
Remember that night in Montana
when we said there'd be no room for doubt?"

13. Then she points a pistol through the door
And she aims at the streetlight while the freeway hisses
Dogs bark as the gun falls to the floor

14. So I left for Minnesota
where the weather is getting colder
people are changing
maybe you could leave a light on

Well, the two I got seem to match together... 7-11. I'll guess 1-8, 2-5, 3-12, 4-13, 6-9, and 10-14 for the rest...

Assuming the theme is days of the week in songs, which is about all I have to go on (and makes sense since there are 14 songs in the game), I'll use that idea for a Krox with a pair of songs I'm certain are not in this game:

Round one is difficult, but round two is a cinch, huh? Something wrong with that format...

Yeah, I saw that when frank answered and hit my head on the desk. I was wondering why "see your spirits rise" seemed so familiar. I only hear that song once a night at Mecca...

ShamelessWeasel

Nope

2. All my time has kept goin' away
I got my money and my honey
And I'm gonna stay to play

Blue Monday - Fleetwood Mac

3. Say you love me until you do so
Joso singing just like Caruso
Three little words roll off your tongue

Wednesday Week - Elvis Costello

4. And I couldn't bear to wait around
For all your nighttime lovers
To go the way they came
Then it came to hurt too much for me

Nope

5. And I don't believe it
Is she really gone again?
[Repeat]
I'll find a way to you someday
[Repeat]

Nope

6. Dressed up to the eyes
It's a wonderful surprise
To see your shoes and your spirits rise

Friday I'm in Love - The Cure

7. Big Jim's been drinkin' whiskey
And playing poker on a losin' night
Pretty soon Big Jim starts a thinkin'
Somebody been cheatin' and lyin'

Saturday Night Special - Lynyrd Skynyrd

8. She is soft, she is warm,
But my heart remains heavy,
And I watch as her breasts
Gently rise, gently fall

Wednesday Morning, 3 AM - Simon & Garfunkel

9. My girl awaits for me in tender time
My girl is mine, she is the world
She is my girl

Blue Sunday - The Doors

10. So come and talk to me on my computer screen
The best years of our lives aren't as easy as they seem
And one day we'll look back, and then we'll have to laugh

Nope

11. Slow motion riders fly the colors of the day
A bronze man still can tell stories his own way

Saturday in the Park - Chicago

12. You're that much a part of me now.
Remember that night in Montana
when we said there'd be no room for doubt?

Come Monday - Jimmy Buffett

13. Then she points a pistol through the door
And she aims at the streetlight while the freeway hisses
Dogs bark as the gun falls to the floor

Nope

14. So I left for Minnesota
where the weather is getting colder
people are changing
maybe you could leave a light on

Nope

I think the odds are approximately 1/e.
1. I'll always be blamed
For what I was named
But still I'm not ashamed

2."All my time has kept goin' away
I got my money and my honey
And I'm gonna stay to play"

3. Say you love me until you do so
Joso singing just like Caruso
Three little words roll off your tongue

4. And I couldn't bear to wait around
For all your nighttime lovers
To go the way they came
Then it came to hurt too much for me

5. "And I don't believe it
Is she really gone again?
[Repeat]
I'll find a way to you someday"
[Repeat]

6. Dressed up to the eyes
It's a wonderful surprise
To see your shoes and your spirits rise

7. Big Jim's been drinkin' whiskey
And playing poker on a losin' night
Pretty soon Big Jim starts a thinkin'
Somebody been cheatin' and lyin'

8. "She is soft, she is warm,
But my heart remains heavy,
And I watch as her breasts
Gently rise, gently fall"

9.My girl awaaits for me in tender time
My girl is mine, she is the world
She is my girl

10. So come and talk to me on my computer screen
The best years of our lives aren't as easy as they seem
And one day we'll look back, and then we'll have to laugh
