top o' the mornin'® 11/22/2013

#1 Post by earendel » Fri Nov 22, 2013 7:26 am

Slow day at work, as Fridays usually are. But the day hasn't been without its adventures. I got on the bus this morning and after going only two stops (about two blocks) the bus decided to break down. So all of us got off and waited for the next bus to come along (it was a different route but paralleled my bus route for a distance). I got on and traveled to the last shared stop and got off to wait for the next bus on my route. Five minutes later here it came - and it was the same bus I had originally been on. The driver said that he had managed to get the bus working again.

Then after going down to our cafeteria for water, I got on the elevator with a woman who had ridden down from a higher floor but didn't get off. I got on, pushed my floor and the elevator went up. She didn't push any buttons. So I asked her where she was going. She said something about "suite". I took a guess and asked if she was looking for the IRS. She was, so I told her the floor, which we had already passed. The elevator reached my floor and I exited. For all I know she may still be on that elevator.

Granted, the woman who's lost in the elevator may be having an adventure.

Isn't this the kind of thing you're supposed to call Homeland Security about?

I suppose I could have informed the security guards, but she seemed harmless.
