Obama Proposes Temporary Fix for Canceled Plans

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Thu Nov 14, 2013 11:31 am

President Obama, two days after being called on the carpet by Bill Clinton, has now said the Administration will postpone enforcement for one year of the Obamacare provision that would cancel many existing plans on or near January 1. Unlike the Republican House bill, which is scheduled for a vote tomorrow, this would only apply to people who are currently enrolled in these plans and would not allow additional people to sign up for them. In addition, his decision is permissive and would not require insurers to continue offering coverage (although in some states, there might be additional pressure on insurers to do so). Insurers would be required to notify people that alternate coverage is available on the exchange and to inform them of the exact reasons why their current coverage does not meet the new Obamacare standards.

Obama will meet with Democratic leaders, some of whom have already proposed their own legislative fixes, later today.

It's like putting back together the crystal stemware you broke with masking tape. Pretty ugly and won't hold water.
..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.
~~ Thomas Jefferson

War is where the government tells you who the bad guy is.
Revolution is when you decide that for yourself.
